Golden Elixer of the Bee Goddess

Manuka – Golden elixer of the bee Goddess.
Obsessed. I use it both internally (RX and cooking) AND topically. A study conducted by the European Journal of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases shows that at a time when many of the world’s top antibiotics are failing, especially against resistant superbugs, Manuka honey shows promise!

6 Ways to Purify Water

The water situation on the planet is no joke. “The Earth’s population is booming, the planet is getting hotter, and drinkable water is either scarce or contaminated in many parts of the world. While certain commercial water purification methods depend on non-sustainable methods and materials that are environmentally taxing, there are great alternatives. Natural water filtration systems can remove bacteria, sediment, and protozoa from fresh water just as well as commercialized systems and are more accessible to people in parts of the world where resources are scarce.”

Earth Day

Everyday is Earth Day. Let us honor and praise our spaceship always, all ways.

“We do not inherit the earth from our ancestors; we borrow it from our children.” – Native American Proverb

Today is Earth Day in the U.S. Isn’t everyday Earth Day? Isn’t everyday an opportunity to be more sustainable, conscious and responsible in how we treat Mother Earth? There are so many ways we can make a difference… and while one person cannot fix the “eek/ick factor” humans have caused over the last century, we can all chip in and make a huge difference! Please respect Pachamama… Because she is speaking to us… You can hear her cries in the shifting of the weather, colony collapse disorder and a slew of other ‘red flags’.

I have found that by being conscious and careful of my consumption I can be an integral ally in a greener and more sustainable world. I began by going back to the basics. That means everything from organic gardening, buying local, educating myself on alternatives, skipping the bottled water, borrowing, sharing and recycling clothing with friends, making cleaning and beauty products and by eliminating plastic bags, paper towels from my life. Plus, I cycle instead of gas guzzle. When we act on a grass-roots level we have the capacity to make great global changes.

According to Treehugger, we would need five planets if everyone lived like the average North American. We only have one, so let’s embrace Pachamama instead of break her.

Nursery Fields Forever

Most kids these days thinks “food” comes from a plastic package in a store. Yet once you inspire them with the greenthumbing process they are absolutely enthralled and don’t understand why anyone would buy vegetables from a store when you can grow your own, even indoors in a small apartment. Nursery Fields Forever is an innovative design proposal that fuses urban farming with nursery education” and can bridge the gap between the agriculture process that kids are exposed to.

Save The Bees Please

There is a deep and urgent need for grassroots efforts here. I urge you to cultivate some of the following to encourage pollinator activity…
Sunflowers, Asters, Marigold, Cornflower, Clematis, Crocus, Brage, Echinacea, Poppies, Verbena Bonariensis and Snapdragons to name a few…

Tree Love

I <3 trees! When I was in second grade I got up in front of class and told the story of how I was a tree in a past life. I got laughed at by many but in my heart I knew for sure I have spent many lives in non-human form. I’m deeply connected to trees and they carry instant and accessible healing and grounding energy medicine. Look into Cosmic Tree Healing Qigong by Master Chia – game changer. And check out this extraordinary round-up of magical forests! Stunning.

The God of Permaculture

One of the most incredible things happened to me the other night. After living in Costa Rica for just over one month, I finally met  Stephen Brooks, and his incredible wife Sarah. They are dear friends of my Puerta A La Vida familia.

Stephen is the mastermind behind Punta MonaEnvision Festival, and La Ecovilla in Costa Rica. To me, he’s the God of Permaculture. We met at his home/community La Ecovilla where Tom Lescher (Kaypacha) lives as well. The land is oozing with Prana, and I got to see firsthand a community of very happy people working towards a greater good. Sustainability and thriving off the land.

He gave me some seed gifts; wing bean, lima bean and a rare species of cucumber seeds. So grateful. Will report back on progress, but I can say these are special and loved seeds…

After Death

When I crossover, I plan on becoming a tree.

Have you ever really stopped to think about what will happen to your body after you die. Most of us will be buried in an expensive coffin (about $2,000) with a decorative gravestone ($400 to $7,000) in a cemetery that might not be the best place to visit for some.

Actually, if you think about it, we have plots of land devoted to holding our dead. What else is happening with that land? Nothing! Some countries, like Germany, offer a free grave for 20 years and then it is recycled if you do not want to pay rent for the land. We need a better option and two programs have a great solution.

That’s right there is currently one method to become a tree after death and another one in the works.

This is the Bios Urn. This biodegradable urn takes your ashes and turns it into a tree.

The ashes are stored down below a soil mix where your seed is planted.

The tree will slowing grow and use your ashes as nutrition.

You can even choose what type of tree you want to become.
